Is Panoramic Wifi a modem or router? ›

All Panoramic Wifi Gateway models are all-in-one modem and routers that provide the same advanced features. There are some differences between models to best support the Internet speed you choose.

You may need wifi pods if you're getting a weak signal in certain areas of your home, especially when far from your Gateway. Wifi pods can be helpful for homes that are larger, multi-storied, unusually shaped with hard-to-reach areas or have metal and structural interference.

Log into My Account with your Cox user ID and password. Scroll down to Manage your services & equipment, then Equipment. From here, you can restart your gateway by tapping the Reset device link.

Do I need to purchase my own modem or will Cox provide it? With Connect2Compete, ConnectAssist, or StraightUp Internet one wifi modem rental is included with the monthly package charge (may include refurbished wireless gateway). For Connect2Compete and ConnectAssist equipment must be returned on service cancellation.

All Panoramic Wifi Gateways are compatible with Cox Voice. If you bring your own modem or gateway, review the following information to use with your Cox Internet package. More connected devices means a slower network. Either turn off any tablets, televisions, and other devices when not in use, or disconnect them from your wifi network to get faster speeds.

Pods are optional wifi extender devices that work with your Panoramic Wifi Gateway to help extend wifi coverage around your home and eliminate dead zones in the process. Pods won't make your internet faster than it already is, but they will help to make your wifi signal more consistent.

Using a VPN is the easiest and most effective way to fix throttling issues. A VPN will encrypt your traffic and make it harder for your ISP to throttle your connection. Use a VPN as they have fast speeds and 24/7 customer support. If you don't want to use a VPN, you can try changing your IP address.

What is the solid white light on Cox Panoramic WiFi? ›

Ideally, you want to see a solid white light on your panoramic WiFi. This means that your panoramic WiFi is working properly and ready for use.

Manage devices

With the Panoramic Wifi app in your hands, you're in charge. From the WiFi tab, you can set limits and controls for different devices, and personalize settings to promote healthy online habits. To pause an individual device, simply select the unpaused device and then select Pause Device.

A modem is a device that establishes an internet connection in your home. A router broadcasts a WiFi signal that allows devices like laptops, smartphones or tablets to connect to the internet wirelessly.

Panoramic Wi-Fi doubles as a public hotspot

It's a separate stream from your home network, so it won't affect your speeds or data usage, but you should still be aware of it, especially because the feature is on by default.
