Victoria’s Secret Credit Card Review 2024 (1)

Our Verdict

With the ability to earn between 5% and 22.5% cash back, the Victoria’s Secret Credit Card* can net you some serious savings on your next in-store purchase. However, the card has limited general use. Because it’s a store card, it can be used only at the Victoria’s Secret and PINK chain locations. And rewards aren’t flexible; they can be used toward Victoria’s Secret merchandise only. This means it’s not useful for everyday spending, but if you shop regularly at Victoria’s Secret it might be a rewarding addition to your wallet. The card offers $25 towards the first Victoria's Secret or PINK purchase on your card upon approval and no annual fee.

Earn $25 towards your first Victoria's Secret or PINK purchase upon approval

Introduction

Two versions of the Victoria’s Secret Credit Card are available: the Victoria Credit Card and the PINK Credit Card, which have different designs but offer the same perks. Both cards earn 10 points per $1 spent on purchases at Victoria's Secret or PINK or 15 points per $1 spent for Gold tier members, 30 points per $1 spent on bra purchases at Victoria's Secret or PINK or 45 points per $1 spent for Gold tier status and free shipping on online orders of at least $50.

Even though the reward rates offered by the Victoria’s Secret Card are potentially higher than those offered by a standard cash-back card, keep in mind you can only redeem these rewards at Victoria’s Secret stores.

The credit card doesn’t charge an annual fee, but does have a high 32.24% variable APR on purchases. Make sure to pay your bill in full to avoid paying interest on your lingerie purchases.

Victoria’s Secret Credit Card Rewards

Earning Rewards

With this card, you’ll get $25 towards the first Victoria's Secret or PINK purchase on your card upon approval. After the first purchase, the rewards structure is as follows for Silver status:

  • 30 points per dollar on bra purchases
  • 10 points per dollar spent at Victoria’s Secret stores

For Gold status, gained by spending at least $750 in a calendar year, the rewards are as follows:

  • 45 points per dollar on bra purchases
  • 15 points per dollar spent at Victoria’s Secret stores

Redeeming Rewards

Every 2,000 points are worth a $10 reward. In other words, each point is worth 0.5 cent. So, if you earn 10 points per dollar back, it’s akin to earning 5% back on Victoria’s Secret purchases. Bra purchases earn a whopping 15% cash back at the base and silver level and 22.5% back at the gold level.

Rewards Potential

The rewards potential earned with the Victoria’s Secret Credit Card depends on how often you visit the store and the amount you spend each time you shop.

Let’s assume you shop at Victoria’s Secret or PINK stores once every three months and spend $100 each time, half of which is spent on bras. Your total annual spend at Victoria’s Secret locations is $400.

As a Victoria Secret cardholder you’ll have automatic Silver benefits, so as a result of the above spending you will earn $10 back from your regular purchases and $30 from bra purchases, totaling $40 cash back to redeem at a Victoria’s Secret store within the next 12 months. Assuming you pay your bill on time and don’t accrue interest, these rewards are free.

Those with Gold status will earn even more rewards.

Other Victoria’s Secret Credit Card Benefits

Victoria’s Secret Credit Card holders also receive certain benefits when shopping at Victoria’s Secret or PINK stores.

  • Free shipping. Get free shipping on online orders with at least a $50 purchase.
  • Birthday gift. Receive $10 in store credit for your birthday (minimum purchase required).
  • Pick Your Perk. Gold-level cardmembers can register their email and receive a special offer in their inbox once per year with varying offers.
  • 2x Points Day. Silver and Gold level members can choose two days per year to earn 2x points on purchases.

If you visit Victoria’s Secret stores regularly and spend a good chunk of money on perfume, panties and pajamas, you can qualify for even more benefits.

Silver cardmembers, or those who spend at least $300 each program year (January 1 through December 31), receive a 15% discount on their next purchase.

Gold cardmembers, or those who spend at least $750 each program year, take advantage of even more benefits, such as:

  • Free shipping. Get free shipping on online purchases of at least $25.
  • Birthday gift. Receive $10 in store credit for your birthday (minimum purchase required).
  • Credit card anniversary. Receive a 20% discount on your next purchase.
  • Higher rewards structure. Earn 45 points per dollar on bra purchases and 15 points per dollar spent at Victoria’s Secret stores.

How the Victoria’s Secret Credit Card Stacks Up

Victoria’s Secret Credit Card* vs. Victoria’s Secret Mastercard® Credit Card*

The Victoria’s Secret Credit Card* also has a Mastercard version, the Victoria’s Secret Mastercard® Credit Card*, which offers even more rewards. You can use the Mastercard anywhere Mastercard is accepted, not just Victoria’s Secret stores.

With the Victoria’s Secret Mastercard® Credit Card*, you’ll earn extra points in the following spending categories:

  • 4 points per dollar spent on travel, dining and streaming services, 2 points per dollar on all other purchases outside Victoria's Secret, 10 points per dollar on purchases at Victoria's Secret or PINK or 15 points per dollar for Gold tier members and 30 points per dollar on bra purchases at Victoria's Secret or PINK or 45 points per dollar spent for Gold tier status

Additionally, you’ll get another $30 bonus reward after spending $500 outside Victoria's Secret in the first 90 days of account opening.

The approval for the Mastercard version of the Victoria’s Secret card is based on your creditworthiness, so not everyone is able to get approved for it right away.

Victoria’s Secret Credit Card* vs. Prime Visa

The Prime Visa from Chase is another store card with a $0 annual fee, but unlike the Victoria’s Secret Card, the Prime Visa offers cash-back rewards that can be used anywhere.

This card earns cash back in the following categories:

  • Up to 5% back on purchases at Amazon.com, Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market and on Chase Travel purchases with an eligible Prime membership, 2% back at gas stations, restaurants and on local transit and commuting (including rideshare), and 1% back on other purchases.

Although the Prime Visa card doesn’t have an annual fee, it does require having Prime membership, which costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year, to earn 5% back at Amazon, Whole Foods and Chase Travel. Without a Prime membership, your earning rate will drop to 3% cash back in those categories.

As mentioned, the rewards structure offers more flexibility than either version of the Victoria’s Secret card. You can redeem rewards earned with the Prime Visa at Amazon, for gift cards and for bookings through Chase Travel. You also can get cash back in the form of statement credits toward any other purchase.

The Prime Visa is a Visa Signature card, which doesn’t charge foreign transaction fees, also offers standard Visa Signature benefits like purchase protection, extended warranty protection and a number of travel protection benefits.

Victoria’s Secret Credit Card* vs. Citi Double Cash® Card

The Citi Double Cash® Card is a $0 annual fee cash-back card whose rewards are quite simple to understand. It earns 2% cash back on all purchases—1% when purchases are made and another 1% when they’re paid off. It’s an ideal card for those looking to earn rewards on every purchase and those who prefer their rewards not be tied to a specific store.

The Citi Double Cash® Card is a Mastercard and can be used with all merchants that accept Mastercard. Unfortunately, the card has a 3% foreign transaction fee, so it’s not the best option for making purchases overseas.

Rewards earned with the Citi Double Cash® Card can be used as a statement credit, direct deposit or check and aren’t tied to a specific store.

Is the Victoria’s Secret Credit Card for You?

The Victoria’s Secret Credit Card* has high rewards potential for someone who shops at the store often, but the limited use of the rewards means the card is not fit for everyday use. However, if you’re a regular VS shopper and combine it with a more general cash-back rewards card the Victoria’s Secret Credit Card* may give your lingerie drawer a lift.
