Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Bat
How to Draw a Great Looking Bat for Kids, Beginners, and Adults - Step 1
1. Begin the cartoon bat outline by drawing the eyes. Draw two “L” shaped lines to form the furrowed brows.
Enclose a partial circle under each brow, with a smaller partial circle inside it. Then, use a series of lines that meet at jagged points to draw a tuft of fur on top of the head.

2. Next, draw the bat’s face. Use an inverted triangle for the nose. Below it, use curved lines to draw the mouth and lower jaw.
Enclose a small triangle on each side of the mouth. These are the bat’s fangs. Use two curved lines to trace the pointed cheeks on each side of the head.

3. Draw the bat’s large ears. For each ear, use two long, curved lines that meet at a point. Detail the nearest ear with an additional curved line.
At the base of the line, draw a jagged, furry pattern. Then texture inside the ear with additional curved lines.

4. Use curved lines that meet at jagged points to draw a tuft of fur on the bat’s chest. Then extend a long curved line to form the belly.

5. Use pairs of lines to draw the bat’s legs. Connect the lines with a “V” shaped line at the bottom, forming the toes.

6. Begin drawing the bat’s wing. Use a series of curved lines to draw the arm, fingers, and the leading edge of the wing.

7. Use a series of curved lines to form a scalloped pattern that encloses the wing membrane.

8. Draw the remaining wing. Use a long curved line for the arm portion, and lines that meet at jagged points for the fingers. Then extend another long curved line for the leading edge of the wing.

9. Use a series of curved lines to create a scalloped pattern, enclosing the wing. Draw a “V “shaped line between the legs to outline the tail.
Color Your Bat Drawing
Your cartoon bat outline is now complete. Color the animal. Most bats are black, brown, or gray. A few have white markings, or are even solid white!
